🐾 Your Pet’s First Photoshoot? Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Booking a photoshoot for your pet might feel exciting, nerve-wracking—or both! Whether you’ve got a bouncing puppy, a mellow senior, or a wiggly rescue who marches to their own beat, I promise you this:
We’re going to make magic.
At Kimberly Austin Photography, our sessions are designed to be as low-stress and joyful as possible—for both pets and their people. If this is your first time, here’s a little insider scoop to help you feel prepared and confident.
1. It’s Okay If They Don’t “Sit Pretty”
Your dog doesn’t need a perfect sit. Your cat doesn’t have to strike a pose.
I work with each pet’s personality—whether they’re shy, spunky, curious, or completely chaotic (hi, puppies).
I’ve got squeakers, treats, and patience. All you need to bring is your pet and their quirks—we’ll handle the rest.
2. Prepping Is Easy (And You’ll Get a Guide!)
After booking, you’ll receive a short prep guide to help you feel ready.
It covers grooming tips, what to bring, and how to help your pet feel their best.
• Favorite treats? Yes, please.
• A beloved toy? Absolutely.
• Something with your scent? Surprisingly helpful!
Don’t stress about showing up perfect—just show up with love. I’ll take it from there.
3. You Get to Choose the Vibe
From classic studio portraits to golden-hour outdoor adventures, every session is tailored to match your pet’s energy—and your style.
Not sure which one’s right for you? I’m happy to help you decide. (P.S. Puppy Tails sessions are great for documenting your dog’s first year!)
4. You’ll Laugh. You Might Cry (The Good Kind).
A lot of clients walk into their first pet session expecting a challenge—and walk out saying, “That was actually fun.”
It’s more than a photoshoot. It’s a memory-making moment. And when you see your portraits for the first time?
Let’s just say… you’ll feel it.
💬 Thinking About Booking?
If you’ve been on the fence, I hope this helps you feel ready.
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or simply want to freeze time for a moment, I’d love to meet you and your best friend.
Let’s create something beautiful—together.
