If thereโs one thing better than pumpkin-spiced lattes and costumes in October, itโs dogs in costumes โ and this yearโs Wag-O-Ween 2025 at Mason Jar Lager Company in Fuquay-Varina was proof that a community with heart (and wagging tails) can make a big difference.
Hosted by US Dog Coalition and Rescue, this paws-itively festive event brought together rescue groups, vendors, trainers, and pet lovers for a day filled with smiles, snuggles, and a whole lot of tail-wagging fun โ all in support of Duncanโs Legacy: Spay, Neuter, and Care, a program designed to help dog owners who cannot afford these vital procedures.
๐งก A Day to Remember
From the moment the event began, the outdoor gathering area at Mason Jar Lager Company was alive with happy barks, creative costumes, and a sense of community you could truly feel. Picnic tables and plenty of wagging tails made for a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere โ the perfect place for a fall celebration.
At my Kimberly Austin Photography booth, I had the joy of photographing dogs of every shape, size, and mix imaginable โ from tiny terriers to gentle giants and lovable mutts โ each one full of personality and charm. It was such a treat to meet so many wonderful pets and their people, all while supporting an incredible cause.
Rescue groups including HEART Pet Rescue, Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love, Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic, and several others stopped by throughout the day โ each contributing in their own way to help North Carolinaโs pets and promote responsible pet care.
Between K9 demonstrations by Killianโs K9 Academy, the delicious treats from Rescue Treats, and the mouthwatering scents drifting from the onsite food truck, there was truly something for everyone.
Pet lovers visited booths, chatted with rescues, and showed off their pupsโ Halloween spirit โ all united by a shared love for dogs and the people who care for them. Events like this remind us just how powerful community can be when we come together for a cause.
All proceeds from Wag-O-Ween supported Duncanโs Legacy: Spay, Neuter, and Care, an initiative created by US Dog Coalition and Rescue to reduce the number of unwanted and stray pets across North Carolina. This lifesaving program focuses on prevention through access to essential spay and neuter care, ensuring that financial hardship never stands in the way of responsible pet ownership.
