Cute Prop Ideas for Your Pet's Upcoming Photo Session

What’s a photoshoot without a few props? And when it’s a pet photo session, you can get creative. 

If you’ve recently scheduled a professional photo session for your pet, here are a few prop ideas you’re going to want to steal. 

  • - Put them in a laundry basket. If you’ve just gotten a new puppy or kitten or your pet is on the small side, putting them in a laundry basket will make for the perfect cute and cuddly photos. 
  • - Hitch up the wagon. This is another simple yet effective prop for kittens and puppies. Small red wagons are eye-catching and will add the perfect pop of color to your photos. 
  • - Write a note. Writing a cute message on a heart-shaped piece of cardboard or a small chalkboard can highlight something unique about your pet, such as their birthday or adoption day. 
  • - Choose a fun hat. If your dog has a quirky personality, choose a fun hat to bring along to your shoot. This could be a Christmas hat, party hat, or even a fun pair of bunny ears. 
  • - Bring along balloons. This is another way to add a pop of color to your photos. Whether you prefer heart-shaped balloons or something bold and color, tie them to your dog’s collar for fun photos you won’t forget. 
  • - Put them in a kissing booth. Doggy kisses are just the best! If you want to create a slightly more elaborate prop, why not hire or make your own kissing booth for the photo session. 
  • - Pack their suitcase. Does your cat or dog always end up in your suitcase or handbag? Why not turn it into a prop instead? 
  • - Highlight their serious cuteness. If your dog or cat is known for their serious expressions or they’re just old and wise, bring along a pair of glasses to highlight this appealing aspect of their personality. 
  • - Shoes are made for walking. Puppies grow up so quickly, so to showcase just how small they are, bring along a pair of high heels or sneakers that you can place on their front paws during their photo session. 
  • - Show off their favorite teddy bear. Many pets have a favorite soft toy that they love cuddling with, no matter how big or tough they look. Bring along their favorite stuffed animal as a cute prop for their photo session. 
  • - Blow some bubbles. Bubbles are fun and playful, which is precisely what your pet is. Dogs have an absolute ball when they get to jump around and catch bubbles. Even getting your pet to sit still while you blow bubbles around them makes for stunning photos.
